HI, im trying to install windows 7 ultimate 32-bit on my late 2011 MacBook Pro. I got the torrent and ISO and burned it successfully and partitions via boot camp and it restarts automatically and it brings up the black screen that says windows is loading files.. It loads up real fast one time and then a second it goes little by little and then stops at the same place. I recently installed the samsung evo 850 SSD which works perfectly. Do I have the option of swapping my old HDD and installing windows 7 & then cloning it to my ssd? Or how can I simply fix this issue? any help is appreciated.

How-To Geek Forums / Windows 7Windows 7 setup stuck at 'windows is loading files'(24 posts)
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NR32L laptop. My previous Windows 7 has become corrupt, it will not load, as i start the laptop up is comes up with VAIO then restarts and its continuos.
I tried to resinstall windows 7 however it sais Windows is loading files the white bar loads but then just gets stuck and nothing happens
Computer specs are:
Intel pentium dual core T2390 1.86GHz 2GB DDR2 SDRAM
What did you do to reinstall windows - from a disk or using the recovery console?
When you turn on the laptop keep pressing the 'f8' key, select 'safe mode' from the menue - does it load?
i used a disk and the disk works,
ive tried going into safe mode but ic ant get into it the computer just restarts the F8 key has no affect what so ever
I sometimes have this problem, when the computer boots and POST's there will be a key to select your boot device, press this key. When it loads the menu select 'Hard Drive' and the press f8 right away - this usualy helps.
From the disk did you format the drive? Also on the disk there is a 'Repair' option - try startup repair from that. Jon
the only screen i see when i start the laptop up is the screen that sais VAIO and thats it, there is nothing else that comes up.i aint formatte dthe drive because i aint been able to get that far
Tedious I know but try the tab key to display any key options, ‘esc’ key then ‘f1’, ‘f2’ …
You may end up in the BIOS, there may be a setting in there called something like ‘Enable f2 boot menu key’ or ‘show BOOT menu options’ this could help you. How did you boot from the disk? Jon ![]()
the only menu i can get into is the BIOS menu and i didnt see anything saying enable F2 boot menu or show boot menu options.
i booted from disk by changing the order in which the computer boots up e.g. boot from disk first then hard drive etc i tried putting boot from hard drive first but that made no difference
Have you tried the 'repair' option within the windows 7 disc?
i cant get to the repair option.
it sais press any key to boot from disk which i did, then is sais windows is loading files and the white bar loads to the end and then it stays there so i am stuck on the windows is loading files wirth the bar fully complete and then nothing happens i just stays on that screen
Are you able to download and burn a repair disk 7 Repair discs.?
These are torrents so you will need someting like utorrent. Jon
yeah i am able to download, whats the link and ill download it
Use the link in my last post (here) and the torrent files are there to download halfway down (three green boxes). Make sure you get the right version 32/ 64 bit. There is also a direct link download in the bold paragraph below.
Note: I do not host these files Jon
ok ill do what you said and see how it goes
Moped seat on bicycle. Thanks for your help :)
right.. i have done what you said, i inserted the cd and obvs pressed any key to boot from cd, it sais windows is loading files, then the screen goes black and then i get the VAIO logo and then the comp restarts doing the same thing as i said earlier
If you have a 64 bit system then try this link.
Windows 7 x64 Recovery Disc
Another alternative is to download a full version of your OS and burn yourself a DVD.
This only works if your PC was shipped with Win 7 - Use the PID located somewhere on a Sticker on you PC to activate it after install. http://techpp.com/2009/11/11/download-windows-7-iso-official-direct-download-links/

Are you sure your keyboard is working (try a usb one)?
It could be a RAM error try here for a good free RAM checker, not the USB installer if you have a spare drive lying around.
Patience! Just leave it. This guy in my school had that same problem during a lab when we were supposed to build a computer, he kept troubleshooting everything and replacing everything, and then finally he gave up and just let it sit there, and then it worked. I rolled my eyes at him. It takes a while. It might sit there for 15-20 minutes, just be patient.
the keyboard works fine as it works to get into the BIOS and it works when pushin any key to boot from cd
the RAM is fine i have just checked it Windows Is Loading Files Stuck
what i was meant to write is my sister has the same laptop as my brothers, i put her RAM in and it worked fine, so i tried both of tghe RAM's from my brothers computer and one of them is buggered one works so i have just left one of the RAM's in there, so problem solved, thanks for all your help
I'm telling you, it probably will work if you just let it sit there! I know it looks like it's hanging after the bar fills up, but if you just let it sit for a while it will finish installing. It might take 15 or 20 minutes but it will work.
Clad you got it working by changing the memory.
Jon

We used Windows 7 32bit in KVM before, but want to migrate to VirtualBox-ose:
But when we try to boot the windows 7 guest, it goes in a 'reboot loop'.. says 'loading files' then reboot.
We already tried:
- Enable/Disable IO APIC - IDE / SATA controllers - Tried to go to 'safe mode', by pressing F8 like a 'maniac'. but we gues only rebooted.
Our question: how can we debug, solve this problem with the reboot loop of the windows 7 guest? Bl2 gibbed save editor.

Converting to VMDK works:
1. qemu-img convert -f qcow2 Win7.qcow2 -O vmdk -o compat6 Win7.vmdk 2. IDE controller needed 3. in 'Device manager' delete all the IDE drivers 4. From now on you can put the disk image to SATA (if using ext4 - host I/O cache need to be turned on), then boot

I got this problem. My HDD was set to SATA0 in the STORAGE settings by default. I changed it to IDE and pointed to the path where my win7 *.vdi HDD was. It booted!
